Matheran

You’ll be amazed to know that Matheran is among the smallest hill stations in India where vehicles are not allowed! It is Asia's only automobile-free hill station, amazing right? Set amidst dense forests, the hill station has a unique old-world charm and colonial-style cottages. Matheran’s unique feature is its eco-friendly approach makes it a must visit place. Mahabaleshwar

Mahabaleshwar in the Sahyadri mountain range is among the most prominent hill stations in Maharashtra. The place is noted for its cool climate, pretty valleys, and green forests. Besides, there are several beautiful retreats offering pleasant stay. Some of the prime spots to visit in Mahabaleshwar are Venna Lake and Arthur’s Seat, among others. Don’t forget to taste the fresh strawberries from the local markets.

Lonavala and Khandala

Lonavala and Khandala are twin hill stations near Mumbai and Pune. These places are noted for their scenic beauty and cool climate. Lonavala is known for its hills, waterfalls, and valleys. Do visit Karla and Bhaja caves here which are just a short distance away.

Panchgani

Panchgani near Mahabaleshwar is noted for its colonial-style bungalows. The hill station is surrounded by five hills that’s why the name Panchgani. A quaint hill station with cool weather year-round, Panchani is also noted for its strawberry farms, old-world charm, and serene environment. Table Land, which is a flat mountain top, is a beautiful spot here.

Bhandardara is a unique hidden paradise in Maharashtra perfect for offbeat nature lovers. The place is surrounded by the Sahyadri mountain range and is noted for its pretty lakes, waterfalls, and the historic fort of Ratangad. Do enjoy boating on Arthur Lake and the scenic beauty of the place.
