8 places near Delhi where temperatures are actually 25°C or below right now

Delhi's summer can feel relentless. When temperatures climb into the 40s, even stepping outside for a few minutes can feel like a challenge. The good news? You don't need to travel very far to find destinations where daytime temperatures are hovering around 25°C or below.
But before you start imagining snow jackets and freezing mountain winds, here's a reality check: most of these places are not cold right now—they're simply wonderfully comfortable. Think pleasant walks, cool evenings, outdoor cafés, forest trails, and the freedom to spend an entire day outside without constantly looking for air conditioning.
Here are eight destinations near Delhi where the weather is currently offering a much-needed break from the heat.

2/9

Chopta, Uttarakhand

With temperatures around 15°C–20°C, and if your goal is to escape summer altogether, Chopta is your best bet. Perched high in the Garhwal Himalayas, this tiny mountain destination remains one of the coolest places accessible from Delhi. The weather is ideal for trekking, especially the famous Tungnath and Chandrashila trails. Mornings can feel genuinely chilly, and evenings often require a jacket. What travellers should expect: Cool mountain weather, occasional pre-monsoon showers, lush meadows, and some of the freshest air you'll find anywhere in North India.

3/9

Narkanda, Himachal Pradesh

Narkanda is usually around 16°C–22°C, so pleasant! Most travellers heading to Himachal stop at Shimla. Those who continue another hour or two often discover Narkanda, a quieter destination that's noticeably cooler. Surrounded by pine forests and apple orchards, Narkanda offers mountain views without the crowds that have become synonymous with more famous hill stations. Pleasant afternoons, cool mornings, excellent Himalayan views, and a much slower pace of life awaits travellers.

4/9

Landour, Uttarakhand

Landour is mostly around 20°C–23°C, this time of year. Located above Mussoorie, Landour feels like a world apart. Narrow lanes, old cottages, deodar forests and mountain views make it one of North India's most charming summer escapes. Its higher elevation means temperatures often stay slightly lower than Mussoorie. Expect cool walks, misty mornings, café hopping, and occasional rain showers that make the forests even greener.

5/9

Pangot, Uttarakhand

With temperatures around 18°C–23°C, you can’t go wrong with Pangot. And the birds! Go for the birds and the views. Just beyond Nainital lies Pangot, a destination that remains surprisingly under the radar despite its beautiful setting. Surrounded by dense forests, the village is particularly popular among birdwatchers, but even non-birders will appreciate the cool weather and peaceful atmosphere. Forest trails, cool mornings, quiet surroundings, and weather that feels far removed from Delhi's heat, these are the things that one can expect when in Pangot.

6/9

Kausani, Uttarakhand

Kausani is a comfortable destination with temperatures around 18°C–24°C. Kausani has long been famous for its sweeping Himalayan panoramas, but the weather may be an even bigger attraction right now. The destination remains pleasantly cool throughout the day, while mornings often offer spectacular mountain views before clouds begin building later in the day. What travellers should expect: Comfortable temperatures, relatively few crowds, and some of the best Himalayan sunrises in India.

7/9

Nainital, Uttarakhand

With temperatures around 20°C–24°C, Nainital continues to be one of North India's favourite summer escapes for good reason. While Delhi bakes under intense heat, the lake town remains comfortable enough for boating, walking and sightseeing throughout the day. The weather is excellent, but there's a catch. Pleasant temperatures, cool evenings, and beautiful lake views are given, but do expect a significant tourist crowd as well, especially on weekends.

8/9

Mussoorie, Uttarakhand

Mussoorie is around 22°C–24°C on most days. The Queen of the Hills remains one of the easiest ways to escape Delhi's summer. While daytime temperatures can occasionally feel warm under direct sunshine, they remain dramatically lower than those in the plains. Recent pre-monsoon activity has also brought cooler conditions and misty landscapes. So what travellers should expect: Comfortable sightseeing weather, cloud-covered valleys, waterfalls beginning to swell, and occasional traffic congestion.

9/9

Almora, Uttarakhand

With temperatures around 20°C–25°C, Almora is a cool bet. The historic Kumaoni town enjoys pleasant weather, fewer crowds than Nainital, and easy access to forests, viewpoints and traditional villages. What travellers should expect: Mild temperatures, a relaxed atmosphere, and a more authentic mountain-town experience.
