Located in Chengalpattu district in Tamil Nadu, the Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary is the oldest wildlife sanctuary in India and has also been designated as a Ramsar site. The unique ecosystem of this sanctuary attracts a lot of birds such as spot-billed pelican, Asian open-billed stork, painted stork, Indian cormorant, little cormorant, black-crowned night heron, along with mammals such as Indian jackal, jungle cat, wild boar, and black-naped hare. Pulicat Lake

The second-largest brackish water lagoon in India located in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh. One will also find the Pulicat Lake Bird Sanctuary here. The lagoon has a rich flora and fauna diversity as it greatly provides a habitat for aquatic birds. Around 15,000 greater flamingos visit the lagoon along with other birds such as pelicans, kingfishers, herons, and painted storks. Boat rides through the backwaters offer a peaceful way to observe the lake's ecosystem and birdlife.

A town located in the Mayiladuthurai district of Tamil Nadu, and the name stands for the place of the singing waves. The city houses the Varadharaja Perumal Temple, Ekambareswarar Temple, Kamakshi Amman Temple, Kumarakottam Temple, and Chitragupta Temple, which are some of the major Hindu temples in the state that one should definitely visit.
