5 unique U.S. national parks one must visit for once-in-a-lifetime adventures!

As per reports, there are 63 official national parks in the United States, each unique in its own way. The park is also home to over 400 protected sites offering a great combination of natural beauty and adventure. From mountains and volcanoes and underground caves to desert landscapes, these parks offer myriad opportunities to connect with nature.

Here are five of the most unique national parks in America:

2/6

Yellowstone National Park – Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho

Yellowstone National Park is unique in many ways. Not many must be aware of the fact that Yellowstone, established in 1872, was the first national park in the world. It is very unlikely to find a place like this elsewhere on Earth. The park sits on top of a massive supervolcano, which fuels more than 10,000 hydrothermal features including geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles. One of the most famous attractions here is the Old Faithful geyser.

3/6

Everglades National Park – Florida

Everglades, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is also known as the “River of Grass.” It also happens to be the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States and. The park offers a unique watery world of slow-moving rivers and mangrove forests and is noted for being home to a rare mix of wildlife, including the American alligator and endangered Florida panther. It is also one of the few places in the world where alligators and crocodiles coexist.

4/6

Carlsbad Caverns National Park – New Mexico

Carlsbad Caverns National Park is one of the most unique underground parks. It’s a whole new and magical world altogether. You’ll find yourself in a different world at Carlsbad Caverns National Park, as there are more than 119 limestone caves. The highlight is the Big Room, a huge underground chamber that could fit 14 football fields. Stalactites, stalagmites, and delicate cave formations create an almost alien atmosphere.

5/6

Haleakala National Park – Hawaii

Haleakala National Park is located on the island of Maui. Haleakala National Park offers visitors a chance to stand above the clouds. The park’s main feature is the Haleakala Crater, a massive volcanic depression stretching seven miles across and more than 2,600 feet deep. Watching the sunrise from the summit, nearly 10,000 feet above sea level, is considered one of the most breathtaking experiences in the entire national park system. From volcanic landscapes to lush rainforests, Haleakalā captures the natural beauty of Hawaii.

6/6

Denali National Park and Preserve – Alaska

This one is huge! Covering over six million acres, Denali National Park is a true wilderness adventure. Its crown jewel is Denali (formerly Mount McKinley), North America’s tallest peak at 20,310 ft. What makes Denali unique is not just its towering mountains but also its vast, untouched landscapes. There are no marked trails beyond a few developed areas, so visitors often embark on true backcountry hikes. The park is also a haven for wildlife, with grizzly bears, caribou, moose, and Dall sheep roaming freely.
