Gurudangmar lake in Sikkim ,innfact was blessed by Guru Nanak, during his world tours,in thev15th cent, when there were no public means of communication. When Gur visited this part of Sikkim, the locals sought his blessings for a sourcevof water at this high alt placeThe Guru took one branch /' dang 'in Punjabi and struck it on the grd and lot a fountain of water sprang up.Guru blessed the water source as never to freez in the winters,to make water available 24x7.Later in 1940s the Army' Sikh Regiment built a small Gurudwara, revered by the locals too,who used to address Guru Manak at Lama Guru. However, the kafirs incited the local Buddhists, who removed the Holy Guru Granth Sahib and planted own idols there.Court case going on decades between the Sikhs and the locals for rightful possession of the Gurudwara by the Sikhs.
