Wondering where to go this season? We pick Asia for the right reason–easy and simplified visa process. Travelling across Asia has never been easier for Indian passport holders. Many countries have simplified entry procedures to encourage tourism. Do you know what this means? Indians can now explore a diverse range of cultures, cuisines, and landscapes without the burden of lengthy visa formalities. Whether through visa-free entry, visa-on-arrival facilities, or seamless e-visa systems, these destinations have made travel smoother, quicker, and stress-free for Indian passport holders. Let’s take a look at some of these Asian countries that offer some of the easiest visa processes for Indian travellers.

Thailand

Thailand has always been one of the most loved destinations for Indian travellers, thanks to its combination of vibrant culture, pristine beaches, and affordable luxury. What makes it even better now is that Indian citizens can visit Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days. However, do remember to complete the mandatory Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online within 72 hours before arrival. The visa-free move has made Thailand one of the most preferred quick weekend getaway destinations. Travellers simply need a valid passport, confirmed return or onward tickets, and proof of accommodation to enter the country.

Maldives

Love sea, sun and sand? Maldives is here with a visa-free entry for Indian passport holders. For Indians dreaming of an unforgettable beach escape, the Maldives continues to be a top choice. The visa-free entry is valid for up to 30 days. On arrival, travellers only need to show a valid passport, confirmed accommodation, and return tickets. This easy process allows visitors more time to enjoy the cosy island stays, to explore the stunning coral reefs and more.

Indonesia

With more than 17,000 islands, Indonesia offers endless exploration opportunities for the curious travellers. From the beaches of Bali and the stunning temples of Yogyakarta to the dense rainforests of Sumatra and the volcanoes of Java, there is no dearth of attractions in Indonesia. For Indian travellers, Indonesia offers an easy visa-on-arrival option, typically valid for 30 days and extendable once for another 30 days. Upon arrival, travellers will need to fill out a form, pay the visa free of approximately INR 2,600 - INR 2,700. Tourists can also apply for the e-visa option.

5/6

Vietnam

Vietnam is easily one of the most favourite destinations among Indian travellers, and we can see why. The beautiful and curious mix of culture, cuisine, history and natural beauty is what attracts the tourists. For Indian passport holders Vietnam offers a convenient e-visa system or a visa-on-arrival. Visitors can apply for the e-visa online and receive approval within three business days. The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days and covers popular entry points like Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang. Vietnam has not only an easy visa process, but is also one of the most budget-friendly destinations for budget travellers.

6/6

Sri Lanka

Just a short flight from India (Delhi to Colombo is just 3.5 hours), Sri Lanka is one of the most accessible and culturally rich destinations in Asia. The country offers Indians both a Visa on Arrival and an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) facility, making entry incredibly smooth. The ETA can be easily obtained online, and travellers can stay for up to 30 days. Once there, find time to explore the stunning beaches of Bentota, the tea plantations of Nuwara Eliya, the sacred city of Kandy, and the ancient ruins of Anuradhapura, these places will keep travellers busy.
