At a time when most people are self-isolating in midst of the COVID-19 crisis, a new travel challenge is going viral online. Social media users and travel enthusiasts are being encouraged to join the challenge and to publish photographs of their last trip. The post reads, "I ask those who love to travel to join the challenge to publish a picture of their last trip. Just a picture, no description. The goal is to flood FB with positive photos instead of negative . Copy this text, attach a picture and see beautiful pictures."
This social media challenge seems to be a way not only to spread positivity but also to give participants a chance to explore different places virtually.
Reminiscing about past travels, planning for the futureApart from sending out positive vibes, the post also gives travellers under lockdown a chance to relive memories. Kunjal Karaniya, a netizen shares, "This challenge helps people reminisce about pleasant memories and keeps them motivated. It also gives them a chance to plan for the future and hope for the best. I have shared a picture of Big lake, Almaty in Kazakhstan. I visited it in December 2019. Being a traveller myself, I can tell you it's difficult to stay indoors for so long, the travel bug keeps eating you up from inside and all of us are waiting and hoping this situation gets better." Priyanka Mehta, another netizen adds, " In these times of uncertainty, I am feeling truly blessed to have had a life that enabled us to explore the world. It's a privilege that we all should be eternally grateful for."
The challenge was first shared by users abroad and seems to be slowly catching on here.
