Coolest new-age 'saat vachan' by panditji at a wedding

2/10

Saat vachan

As believed and followed from ages, the seven promises Indian couples make at the wedding altar are sacred and pretty much set the rules for the life ahead for the couple. From sharing, caring, loving and taking care of each other, there are some that also sound a little regressive to this current generation.

3/10

Is the change required?

Present-day couples feel that there should be some change in those promises according to today's lifestyle and makes more sense. Since women are equally independent and enjoy their own freedom, why would they submit to a vachan like - solely taking care of groom's food and house.

Cool panditji

Recently, at an Indian wedding, panditji shared some of the coolest and modified to today's lifestyle 'saat vachan' for the bride and the groom and left everyone in splits.

5/10

What were the vachans?

For the bride, panditji said: 'dhan, dhani, madhur pradarth (alcohol), sab mujhe arpan (submit to me) karein. Now this sounds relatable ;)

6/10

To the bride:

Panditji says to the bride: aapne kabhi akele bageeche mein nahi jana, sharaab ke adde pe nahi jana, aur faaltu ka nahi hasna hoga.

7/10

To the groom:

There are some fun vachans for the groom too! He says, 'aapne kabhi bahar sone nahi jana, na hi kahin bahar bhojan nahi karna.'

9/10

The impact

The vachans were thouroughly enjoyed by the bride and the groom and everyone listening around. This came out to be one happy and fun wedding ritual.

10/10

Sounds like a cool change, no?
