‘There’s an energy reset whenever we meet’
Rwitobroto Mukherjee and Anusha Viswanathan’s friendship precedes their college days, but Jadavpur University strengthened their bond. On Friendship Day, the two actors caught up over chaa from Milan Da’s canteen and CT was there to capture the precious moments. From fun trips, favourite films to how much they miss Ujaan, who was an integral part of their college group, the conversation flowed in the lush university campus.
“Rwito was not in the same batch as Ujaan (Ganguly) and I, but we have lots of fun college memories. We share a love for Chinese food and often went out for lunch together” – Anusha Viswanathan
“We used to hang out a lot till late night during college fests. Our departments are adjacent and one would even find us near the ledges, at Milon Da’s tea shop and the jheel paar” – Rwitobroto Mukherjee
“Once our group travelled to a retreat in Jhargram, set in the middle of a forest. We did crazy things like swinging on the swings at 2.30am, going out for a walk in the jungle and more!” – Anusha
“Our friendship is very dynamic and we understand each other’s spaces and boundaries well. Both of us are emotional individuals, and even though we don’t talk every day now that she has completed her Master’s, we pick up from the point we left off every time we meet, even if there’s a gap of days or even months” – Rwitobroto
“I feel Rwito is more sorted when it comes to handling professional relationships. He knows how to navigate people and I like how he interacts with everyone on the sets right from the technicians to the producers” – Anusha
“We had a fun start to our friendship when we first met on the sets of a film we worked on together. There are some people in life you immediately know you can connect with. Rwito was one such person” – Anusha
“There are loads of films like Open Tee Bioscope, Hawa Bodol, ZNMD and Hangover that remind me of friendship, but I am fonder of shows like The Office, Friends and How I Met Your Mother. The latter taught me a lot about adult friendships, and how it tells us that we may not always be around our friends, but still love them” – Rwitobroto
