Followed by a series of weeklong activities, the British Deputy High Commission in Kolkata will mark the coronation of Their Majesties, King Charle’s III and the Queen Consort with a celebratory evening reception on May 6 in Kolkata.
On Saturday 6 May, at the ancient Westminster Abbey in the heart of London, the Archbishop of Canterbury will crown His Majesty King Charles III and Her Majesty the Queen Consort. The coronation ceremony is a significant cultural event for the United Kingdom and the global audience and leaders and dignitaries will attend to witness and celebrate the historic coronation ceremony and other related events. King Charles will also make the most of the occasion to highlight what he envisages for the nation.
Acting British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, Peter Cook will be interacting with hearing-impaired cricketers at the Indian Deaf Cricket Association’s Tri-Nation ODI series and with children from an NGO in line with the spirit of the themes of the Coronation (youth, community, diversity and sustainability). He shared, “I am delighted and privileged to be marking this historic milestone. We are hosting a reception for our guests in Kolkata.”
