The evening kicked off with a burst of colours, literally! As confetti rained down after the opening numbers, drones swooped in like futuristic helpers, swiftly clearing the stage under Sonu’s guidance. It was a slick touch that set the playful tone for Satrangi Re, where he mixed his hits with classics, creating a “satrangi rainbow” of melodies. One standout moment came during a medley when he cheekily twisted the lines of Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar’s soulful “ Lena hoga janam humein kahin kahin baar ” into “ Aana hoga Pune humein kahin kahin baar .”

Sonu Nigam enthralls Pune with mashups, melodies and moonwalk
Sonu didn’t hold back on the showmanship. Midway through the high-energy Bijuria, he shrugged off his coat and broke into slick dance moves, even pulling off a moonwalk that rivalled MJ himself. The atmosphere came alive, with phones lighting up like a sea of stars as fans captured the moment.
His light banter, taking song requests, and playful jokes about Pune’s notorious winter dust won hearts. He quipped, “ Kal bhi mera show hai, kahin gala kharab na ho jaye .”
Adding emotional depth, Sonu delivered Sandese Aate Hai right on cue ahead of Republic Day. Backed by powerful visuals of the Indian Army, he poured his heart into the tribute, fists pumping as the crowd joined in a resounding chorus.

True to his improvisational genius, Sonu handled duets solo-style, nailing the female parts in tracks like Aaj Ki Raat with uncanny precision and flair. No backing singer was needed, the Padma Shri awardee’s voice proved to be a one-man orchestra. The night built to an unforgettable close with Kal Ho Naa Ho , his iconic heartbreak anthem, seamlessly fused with Abhi Mujh Mein Kahin from Agneepath . As the final notes faded, Sonu bowed deeply and autographed dozens of fans’ T-shirts, scrapbooks, and jackets. In a city that thrives on live music, Satrangi Re reaffirmed Sonu Nigam’s status as India’s ultimate showman.
