Royals and their contributions to the literary world

Besides living a life of luxury and performing their royal duties, royals from all around the world have given in to their passion for writing and have become some of the most renowned best-selling authors in the world. From Prince Charles' book on climate to Princess Michael of Kent's historical novels, many royals have generously contributed to the world of literature.

That being said, here are some of the royals from around the world who are passionate writers and are thriving in the literary world.

Queen Victoria

Going back in time, it is said that Queen Victoria was not only an avid writer, but she was also a diligent diarist. She maintained an incredible 120 volumes of journals throughout her life and even wrote a novel at the age of 10 called "Adventures of Alice Lesalles", which was published in 2015 - 185 years after she first wrote it in her exercise book.

Charles, Prince of Wales

The Prince of Wales is a prolific writer who has authored and co-authored many books on garden, art, architecture and climate. His most recent co-authored book is The Ladybird Book on Climate Change. In addition to this, one of his most popular children's book is "The Old Man of Lochnagar", which was published in 1980 and is based on the stories he used to tell his younger brothers Andrew and Edward.

Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco

A philosophy graduate, Charlotte Casiraghi of Monaco , granddaughter of Princess Grace Kelly has co-authored philosophy book called "Archipel des Passions" with her former professor Robert Maggori. The book touches upon subjects of love, cruelty, adoration, and sweetness and is also available in French.

Queen Rania of Jordan

Queen Rania of Jordan is known for her love for writing children's novels. She has published four children’s books of which the latest is called "The Sandwich Swap". The book explores the various aspects of her childhood and was declared a New York Times Bestseller.

Princess Michael of Kent

Born to Baron Günther von Reibnitz and Countess Maria Szapáry von Muraszombath, Princess Michael of Kent belongs to the Hungarian and German nobility. Besides her royal affiliations to the British Royal Family, she is also a biographer and an author. According to her website, the princess has released seven books, including three works of historical nonfiction and "The Anjou Trilogy", a fictional series.

Besides being a founder of a successful children's clothing line, Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece is also a passionate writer. Her first book is called "Manners begin at Breakfast", which delves into the world of modern etiquettes necessary for people to follow.

Not only does Princess Martha Louise of Norway maintain her place in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne, but she is also an author, who wrote her first children's book in 2004 called "Why Kings and Queens Don’t Wear Crowns".
