Princess Eugenie expecting third child this Summer
Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are set to welcome their third child this summer, according to an official announcement from Buckingham Palace. The news was met with warmth from the royal family, with the Palace stating that His Majesty The King has been informed and is delighted by the upcoming addition to the family.
The couple, who celebrated Jack’s 40th birthday this past Sunday, already have two sons, five-year-old August and two-year-old Ernest. The Palace noted that both boys are very excited to welcome a new sibling later this year. Princess Eugenie, 36, also shared the happy update on her personal Instagram account, posting a sweet photo of her two sons looking at a baby scan with the caption, "Baby Brooksbank due 2026!"
As the couple prepares for the arrival, the new baby will join the royal line of succession, taking the 15th spot and moving ahead of the King’s brother, the Duke of Edinburgh. Like their older brothers, the new arrival will not hold the style of His Royal Highness.
The baby will be the fifth grandchild of the Princess’s father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. Last year, King Charles removed Mountbatten-Windsor’s royal titles and honors following revelations regarding his association with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Mountbatten-Windsor was later arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office amid allegations of sharing sensitive trade information, though he has denied any wrongdoing and remains under investigation.
While Princess Eugenie, her sister Princess Beatrice, and their mother Sarah Ferguson have appeared in documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice, being named in these files does not imply any misconduct. Neither of the princesses serves as a working royal. Outside of her family life, Eugenie continues her career as a director at the Hauser & Wirth art gallery in Mayfair, while her husband maintains a career in hospitality and marketing, with the family splitting their time between Portugal and their home at Kensington Palace.
