Britain's Princess Catherine has become a Kentucky Colonel.
The brunette beauty - who married Prince William last Friday and was given the official title of The Duchess of Cambridge - has had the honour bestowed upon her by Tampa anaesthesiologist Allan Escher, after impressing him with her appearance at a fundraiser for Britain's Teenage Cancer Trust in January.

Allan - who is also a Kentucky Colonel – said, "I don't know what issues she's passionate about, but whatever they are, I thought she'd probably be a very strong advocate."
However, Allen says that he hasn't heard from Catherine about her new title as he sent the original "letter patent" to her parents' family home in Berkshire, England, and is unsure whether they received it.
He told tampabay.com, "It's probably buried under a mountain of mail and unsolicited gifts."
The first Kentucky colonels were military men but the title became ceremonial after the Civil War and is now bestowed by Kentucky's governor on individuals of noteworthy accomplishments or significant contributions to mankind. However, only colonels can make nominations.
