Man jumps off building in Bengaluru after it catches fire

The KDP Building in Kira Layout on Bengaluru's Hosur Road, which houses the Mudpipe cafe, witnessed a massive fire breaking out. It is said to have originated on the fourth floor of the building, due to a suspected short circuit that exploded. Caught amid the bellowing smoke and flames, a video captured a man jumping off the fourth floor to escape. He is said to have sustained injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his condition is still unclear.

Fire and emergency officials said that they received information about the fire around 12:05 pm and rescue teams were immediately sent out to douse the fire. "The cafe was closed and a person in the building had jumped before we reached the spot and he was rushed to the hospital by the public. There was a blast following the fire.
We have to verify what caused the blast. There was a Cult Fit gym and Nexa showroom in the same building. The fire has spread to the entire top and second floor of the building," said a senior officer.

However, they also believe a gas cylinder could have been the reason for the fire, but it is yet to be confirmed, which will be done only after the fire has been competely put out.
