...says Cricketer Brad Hodge on Shah Rukh Khan and learning Hindi, especially expletives. He is one of the best batsmen in the T-20 format and whenever the situation demands, Hodge has invariably performed and steered the team to victory. Earlier, Hodge was with Team Kolkata and Team Kochi, but in the fifth edition of the
IPL, he was bought by Team Rajasthan. Ask him about being part of the Royals and he says, “It’s exciting to be with the Team Rajasthan because they were the champions in the first year and the team is a good blend of experience and youth.”
When you are in India, one thing which is inevitable is learning Hindi words, both good and bad.
And with Indian players around, Hodge is making full use of his time in brushing up his Hindi speaking skills. He says, “I now speak naughty words. I don’t know a lot, but I’m learning. We tend to spend a lot of time in India anyway so I think, we should know Hindi well.”
Though Hodge is with Team Rajasthan now, he couldn’t stop raving about Kolkata and its owner, Shah Rukh Khan. “I really enjoyed playing for Team Kolkata. Even though we weren’t that successful in the initial years, but SRK is a good friend and it was nice working with him,” says the cricketer. We all know that SRK is known for the crazy parties after his team wins a match and Hodge nods his head in agreement, as he says, “SRK is a nice human being and a gentleman. We had so much fun at his parties. He is very caring towards his players and he continues to be an excellent role model for everyone.”
