Two years of married life, how has it been treating you?
It’s been a great journey so far. I am sure it will continue to be the same. I am absolutely enjoying this responsibility.
Do you actually feel like you are married, considering you are away travelling most of the time?
Yes, I do travel a lot, but that in no way means that I forget my wife, Karabee.She is as important in my life as cricket is.
Do you make up for all the time lost?
Yes, I do make up to her for all the time lost. I think I am a responsible husband, and as one, I have to take care of my wife. When I am not playing cricket, I try and do things that make her happy… like going on holidays, movies or shopping.
What does Karabee mean to you?
She means the world to me... Karabee takes care of me, my parents and all the other things, to allow me to focus on cricket. She believes in giving, without expecting anything in
return.
How has she changed your life?
My wife is intelligent (after all, she holds a Phd in Biochemistry). She has given up her career for me. In today’s world, I feel there will be very few people who can do this. What more can I ask for! Karabee has made me a more responsible person. And you know what, I love the change in me.
What did you give her for this anniversary?
I love watches, so, this year I have planned to give her something that I like... I bought a watch for her, hope she likes it.
Are you a romantic at heart?
I don’t know if I am a romantic person or not... Maybe, Karabee can answer that question better (laughs). But I can do anything that will make her smile. A smile on her face means a lot to me.
So like all romantics, do you keep falling in love with her over and over again?
Is that a question to be asked? (laughs). I have fallen in love with her. I am in love with her and will always be. She will always be very special
to me.
Are you planning to have kids any time soon?
Not any time in the near future. Right now, I am focusing on cricket and I travel most of the time. We will think about it when we have enough time to give to our family.
Is your wife your best cheerleader?
(Laughs) She watches the matches whenever I play, but as such, she doesn’t really have too much interest in cricket.
