Everything you need to know about today's partial solar eclipse
A partial solar eclipse, also known as a Surya Grahan, will be visible from several parts of India, including Bengaluru, today. It is reported to be a rare occurrence since this will be the first partial eclipse in a decade, making it something that one must not miss.
According to a Twitter user, the eclipse in each city will begin at 16:29:10 and end at 18:26:03.
What is a partial solar eclipse?
A partial solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes between the Sun and Earth and only partially blocks the Sun's disc.
What time is it visible in Bengaluru?
According to the tweet, the eclipse will be visible in the city at 5:12 pm today. It will last for a total of 1 hour and 45 minutes in India.
How to watch it?
Experts suggest the best way to view an eclipse is by covering your eyes with a shield since the rays are said to be harmful to the naked eye. An eclipse glass would be the best tool here, but if it’s not easily available, then you could always make do with a pair of sunglasses, but make sure to not look at it for long.
