Delhi gal Manasvi, the new Miss World '10!
Manasvi Mamgai is elated as she walks away with the most coveted title - The Miss India World '10, and with that she says, she already has her eyes set on winning the Miss World crown too...
“I'm losing my appetite, I'm yet to digest the fact that I have won,” said an elated Manasvi Mamgai after winning the coveted crown of Pantaloon's Femina Miss India World 2010, on Friday in Mumbai.

And while her excitement and the realization of what a leap this has been, hasn’t settled down yet, we recollect as to how she scaled the heights - from being just another contestant among the 18 finalists to the top 10, then 5 and finally the queen – the Miss India World.
So while Manasvi herself may have been shocked by her win, guess the judges had already marked her out from the very start. Well, given the number of titles she had bagged all along the subcontest rounds, Manasvi had only been making her place more secure as the rightful Miss India World winner.
Much to the envy of other contestants, Manasvi made her place stronger right from the beginning by becoming the only model so far to have won five subtitles in the pageant history. And the coveted ones at that! Right from winning the Gorgeous Femina Miss Beautiful Skin, Femina Miss Catwalk, WGC Femina Miss Golden Heart to Himalayan Femina Miss Natural Beauty to even Femina Miss Beauty with a Purpose, all fell one after the other in Manasvi’s lap.
So this and Manasvi's unbeatable confidence that she showed all along, specially while introducing herself to the judges on stage, scored her more points and made it easier for her to enter the top 10 slot.
And once there, like they say, there was no looking back for her.
Looking beautiful in cocktail dresses from the ‘Timeless collection’ by Anita Dongre the final 10 took on host Rohit Roy's funny questions with ease. Soon it was time for the top five to be declared and Manasvi was again one of them. The other four close contenders being - Dimple Patel, Nicole Faria, Krithika Babu and Neha Hinge.

Manasvi, when asked how was it scaling slowly to the top – the crown, she had amusedly remarked “Don't know if anyone noticed, but every time they were announcing the winners, my name was the last to be announced. And everytime I thought ab gai ab gai.. but God saved me!”
Nervous she might have been, but on the face, she ensured that she didn’t let it show and that’s just how she braved Sania Mirza’s final question – the life-changing one for this pretty contestant from Delhi. Manasvi was asked by Sania what is the most important thing she had learnt in the past 40 days and the beauty replied it is - self belief - her inner strength that has kept her going.
And then amidst a whole lot of nervousness, anxiety and nailbiting from the contestants’ side and thundering applause from the audiences, the verdict was announced by the hosts – Manasvi Mamgai was the Pantaloons Femina Miss India World ’10. And with that another dream was fulfilled just as another one took birth – of winning the Miss World title next. As Manasvi herself put it, “When other girls were dreaming of becoming Miss India, my eyes were set on that blue crown of Miss World. This victory is a part of the other big journey.”
We can only wish Manasvi the very best.
