Atiul Islam from Murshidabad receives best promising director award

On June 9 this year, Bengal Telecine Awards was held at a Kolkata auditorium. Several star actors, actresses, directors and other creative personalities were honoured with awards on this day by the team of Telecine Awards. But it is a matter of pride that Atiul Islam, a native of Murshidabad, was awarded the Best Promising Filmmaker award at the event. Atiul Islam was honoured with this award in presence of the filmmakers Kaushik Gangopadhyay, Gautam Ghosh, actors Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Ankush Hazra and Abir Chatterjee to name a few.

The director himself is elated to have received the award. After being associated with the entertainment world for ten long years, having directed four films and receiving multiple honours, the director is on a quest to achieve more. He took to social media handles to express his emotions after receiving the award. He wrote in one of his posts, "I am getting emotional today after stepping on another step of success. One day when I saw all the rathimaharthis in the square frame of Bokabox to accept the award, I used to weave a dream inside, that one day I will reach that place. A popular award ceremony that has been running for 21 years, many talented directors, actors, screenwriters, composers have been felicitated. Many of them were present today. I never thought that today would be my day. Although it was a dream to stand in front of them and receive an award, it came true today. Thanks to my seniors, without whose blessings I might not have crossed the road so far. Finally, I would like to thank the Telecine Awards."
Murshidabad residents are extremely happy with the filmmaker's success and hope many more boys and girls will follow his path and dream of becoming directors and actors. Many other prominent stars were awarded on this day.
