ASI monuments to be shut till March 31
All of Goa's 21 centrally protected monuments will be shut until March 31 as directed by the director general of the Archaeological Survey of India. These include monuments of national importance in Goa like forts and religious sites. These include all the monuments in Old Goa like Church of St Augustine, Chapel of St Catherine, Church of St Cajetan, Se Cathedral, Chapel of St Francis Xavier and connecting buildings. This decision is taken as a precationary measure during the Covid-19 pandemic. Safa Masjid in Ponda, Mahadev Temple in Tambdi Surla and Kurdi, Arvalem Caves, Fort Aguada and others will also be shut until the end of the month.
