What is Bada Mangal?

Bada Mangal, or Budhwa Mangal, refers to a series of 4-5 Tuesdays that occur in the month of Jyeshtha according to the Hindu calendar, which is generally between May and June according to the Gregorian calendar. These 5 Tuesdays are considered to be extremely powerful, and devotion done during this time amplifies your positive energy.
And as Tuesdays are dedicated to Lord Hanuman, in the Budhwa Mangals devotees pray to Lord Hanuman for protection, strength, loyalty, and devotion.

Shani Jayanti 2025

Shani Jayanti is observed as one of the most powerful days dedicated to Lord Shani, the God of discipline, karma, justice, and more. He is the God who is believed to put people through trials and challenges to test them and help them emerge as better versions of themselves.
It is said that if Lord Shani is impressed by someone, he rewards them immensely and looks over them.

Date and timings in 2025

In 2025, Bada Mangal and Shani Jayanti both fall on Tuesday, May 27, and this is being seen as an immensely positive coincidence. Lord Hanuman and Lord Shani are both Gods of strength and justice, and it is said that if someone wishes to reduce the negative effects of Lord Shani in their life, they should worship Lord Hanuman. And as Bada Mangal and Shani Jayanti fall together, this is the perfect time and day to pray to both of them and ask for your life’s most important wishes.

The power on 27th May

This rare combination, where Shani Jayanti and Budhwa Mangal are on the same day, gives devotees a chance to redeem themselves in front of both Lord Shani and Lord Hanuman. The devotion they invest in on this day can bring fruitful benefits in the future, and keep them protected and prosperous.
It is also powerful because it is believed that Lord Hanuman is the only deity who can pacify Shani Dev and protect devotees from the adverse effects of Sade Sati. And Shani Jayanti is about owning your past actions and asking the Lord for betterment and transformation.

How to manifest on this day

Your social media must be filled with videos that talk about elaborate rituals and manifestation processes during this day. But a simple naam jap can also bring great benefits if your intentions are pure.
But make sure to wake up early, take a bath and cleanse yourself (ideally with Gangajal), and clean the home temple before starting with the worship rituals. Then set up a small altar with photos or idols of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shani, and light a diya for both. Offer them flowers, fruits, jaggery, boondi, black til, and the likes.

6/8

Recite Hanuman Chalisa

One of the best ways to please and worship Lord Hanuman is through the Hanuman Chalisa. A 40-verse hymn written by Goswami Tulsidas ji, the Hanuman Chalisa talks about Lord Hanuman’s powers, his characteristics, his achievements, and more.
It is said that quietly chanting the Hanuman Chalisa in a temple or in a quiet room is apt to worship and please Lord Hanuman.

7/8

Recite Shani Chalisa or a mantra

After chanting Hanuman Chalisa, the number of times you wish to, recite the Shani Chalisa or a mantra dedicated to Lord Shani. You can also visit a temple of Lord Shani, offer sesame oil (til), and pray to Lord Shani to bless you with the right conduct in life.

Even if you don't know the full Chalisa, listening to it with intention is equally powerful.

Set your intentions in water

Manifesting with water is an extremely powerful way of asking the Universe and the divine to make your dreams come true. Even on this day, if you like, fill a bottle with water and as you look at the water filling the bottle, think about your most ambitious dreams, one that you have been working on making true for months or years. Once the bottle is filled, tell the water element what you wish to achieve and how you will put the right efforts throughout, and then pour some water into a plant, and drink the rest while visualising you achieving your dreams.
