Hindu mythology is a tapestry of vibrant stories and intricate characters, where gods and demons dance on the cosmic stage, shaping the destiny of the universe. Mahabali, a revered figure in Hindu mythology, is best known for his virtuous rule and the legend of Vamana, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. As the benevolent demon king, Mahabali's unparalleled generosity earned him praise and devotion. However, the gods, fearing his growing power, sought Vishnu's intervention. Disguised as Vamana, Vishnu approached Mahabali and, in three steps, covered the entire universe. Despite his banishment, Mahabali's piety and humility won him eternal respect, marking a tale of sacrifice and devotion celebrated during the festival of Onam.

After a prolonged battle, Durga slayed Mahishasura, symbolizing the victory of good over evil, righteousness over tyranny, and the eternal power of the goddess. The festival of Navaratri celebrates this mythological victory, honoring the strength and resilience of the divine feminine.

Please stop calling Itihasas and characters associated with them as Mythology. Ramayana and Mahabharata are ancient history and the characters involved in the epics are our ancestors. Ours is the oldest surviving civilization and these epics are part of our ancient culture.
