Healing baths

While people think that taking a bath is just a part of everyday routine that needs to be done to look presentable, ancient traditions thought otherwise. To many, showering is more than just a routine, it is a time to introspect and spend time with themselves. In fact, the routine activity of bathing can be extremely therapeutic and spiritual if done right. By adding the right ingredients and visualising positive things, something as simple as taking a bath can refresh you.
Here we mention 6 things to add to your bath water and the benefits they offer.

2/7

Salt

Salt is known for its cleansing properties and has been added to baths since a long time. When you add salt to your bath water, it can help to cleanse your aura, remove negative energies and impurities, and make you feel better, more refreshed. This practice is a part of many cultures and spiritual traditions and salt baths are believed to promote a sense of clarity, peace, and protection.
Normally, people add a cup or two of Himalayan salt or epsom salt to the bath water. Mix it well, and then slowly let your body soak in that water. And while you are taking a bath, visualise all the negative energy being drawn away from you.

3/7

Cardamom for luck

Cardamom is linked to luck and prosperity, and adding cardamom to your bath can add to your life a sense of good fortune and positive energy. Cardamom also has a warm, inviting fragrance that can help to amp up your mood.
To use it, just crush a few cardamom pods and add them to a small muslin cloth and let it seep in the warm water. Once the water changes colour a bit, and becomes fragrant, start bathing with it.

4/7

Milk for long life

Milk baths have been famous since ancient times for their nourishing ability and how well it softens the skin. But, milk is also associated with good health and long life. People say that adding 4-6 tablespoons of milk in your bath water can help lead a healthy, long life, with minimal skin-related problems. Just add the milk to slightly warm water and mix it well. Let it infuse for about 20 minutes and then take a bath with it.
Then, as you dry yourself, think about how the milk improved your aura, seeped into your skin and threw away the impurities from your body.

5/7

Haldi for good fortune

Turmeric, or haldi, has excellent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. And in traditional cultures, haldi is used in rituals for attracting good fortune. Adding turmeric to your bath can infuse your life with positive energy and will help in having a better outlook towards life. Just add a tablespoon of raw, powdered haldi to the bathwater, and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Once the water turns a pale yellow, pour it over yourself and then rinse with normal water so that it does not stain your body.

6/7

Sandalwood for success

Sandalwood is famous for its calming scent and is also used in spiritual practices to attract success and promote inner peace. Adding sandalwood to your bath can help you centre your mind, reduce stress, and align your energies toward achieving your goals. To use sandalwood, just add a few drops of sandalwood essential oil to your bathwater, and make sure the water is warm to touch. As it infuses and fills the air with a soft fragrance, bathe with it and see what comes next.

7/7

Rose petals for love

Rose petals have forever been linked to love and romance. Their soft fragrance can improve anyone’s mood and promote a feeling of love and compassion. And while bathing with rose petals can help soften the skin, and is very fragrant, it has also been used to attract love and prosperity.
To use, add some fresh rose petals to your bathwater, and a few drops of rose essential oil. Let it soak for about 30 minutes, and then pour that water over you. As you do it, think about attracting love and happiness in your life.
