Confessions of an employee who ruined the career of other people

Check out these shocking confessions!

The workplace is full of competition and toxicity. With people competing against each other for the highest position, it can become a real war place. There are few people who might even have malicious intent and try to sabotage their colleague's careers in order to earn the benefits of their position. Quite interestingly, a former corporate employee talked to us and told us about the intricacies of what goes on in a workplace—the competition between colleagues. Here are some anonymous confessions that will shock you.

2/6

Being too competitive

“I realise I have been too competitive in my prime days at my office. I never cared for my colleagues or nor did I ever think about supporting my team. All I cared about was my success and how I could become more successful than others, even if it meant putting others through the knife.”

3/6

Claiming others’ work as your own

“I used to do this a lot. Since I was quite vocal and loved speaking, I took every opportunity to talk in every meeting by showing that it was all my work. All I had to do was brush up on my knowledge and facts about the presentation. It was that easy.”

4/6

Picking meek colleagues for teamwork

“I used to pick meek colleagues for projects so that I could take up major responsibility and have no one to counter me for that. I loved being the lead and bossing over other colleagues who almost have no say in the matter. You can get work done without you being questioned by anyone.”

5/6

Disturbed people on weekends

“Whenever I was assigned work, I tried to put it on my juniors during the weekend. As shallow as that may sound, I didn’t care as long as I got to enjoy my weekend. If I am not able to enjoy the perks of my position even a little bit, then where is the fun?”

6/6

Hating on another colleague

“This one time I hated a colleague so much that I tried to pry into their work and look for ways to take out big mistakes. And luckily, I did get one. And I immediately reported this to the manager. The guy had been let off with a warning that if it occurred again, he will get laid off. I have no regrets whatsoever. Serves him right for being a prick.”
