Celebrity chef calls Meghan Markle’s cooking show "terrible"-- What happened next will surprise you
Meghan Markle doesn't disappoint when it comes to controversies. With 2025, people got to see a different side of Meghan Markle-- her personal life that she and Prince Harry have created in the US, away from the UK royal family and much public scrutiny. Meghan's new cookery show 'With Love, Meghan' was released earlier this year, but it was majorly slammed by many viewers online. Now, celebrity chef Jameson Stocks— who once whipped up meals for King Charles— too criticised the Duchess of Sussex for her show and cooking skills.
For the unversed, the show, which dropped last month, follows Meghan around her lavish Montecito home as she whips up meals and hosts famous friends like Mindy Kaling, Abigail Spencer, and chefs Alice Waters and Roy Choi. But Stocks? He’s not impressed.
He called the show “terrible” and “hard to watch,” and even claimed he turned down an offer to be part of the project before it aired. And now, he says speaking out got him in serious trouble. “I got a lawyer’s letter from Netflix (the show's producer) after I spoke out against her, warning me,” he told MailOnline. “I proper p***ed them off. Netflix did not like it and came after me.”
On the contrary, Netflix told The Independent that no such legal letter was ever sent.
Still, the celebrity chef didn’t hold back with further criticising Meghan. “How can she get all this money from Netflix?... I don’t think she can cook, and I don’t think she should be teaching people to cook either,” he added.
The celebrity chef originally slammed Meghan's show on GB News, saying he felt it was going to be “forced and fake” from the start. He also revealed that he was initially approached for the show, but he turned down the offer as he worried he’d be stuck playing teacher in a staged kitchen. “I felt that even if she produced a really great programme, which I was quite skeptical of anyway, that I might get a little slammed for it, for being a part of it... I didn’t like the idea of me showing her how to do something, and then it kind of being forced and fake. I just felt if she’s going to do something herself, she should do it herself,” he said.
Instead, he also adviced Meghan to do what she is really good at-- Acting! “I think she should just go back to acting. She’s quite a good actress in real life, or obviously on screen. I think people should just stick to what they do best," he added.
Meanwhile, the second season for 'With Love, Meghan' is already announced. Meghan also launched her lifestyle brand 'As Ever' this year, along with her own podcast. Now, that's some serious work for a Duchess!
