5 underrated life hacks that will make you 10 times smarter

Life doesn’t come with a manual, but every now and then, you stumble across little tricks that make everything smoother. These aren’t the grand motivational quotes or viral hacks that promise overnight success. These are subtle, almost invisible adjustments that actually work mentally, emotionally, and even practically. The kind of advice you wish someone had whispered to you years ago.

These tips won’t turn you into a billionaire by morning, but they will save you time, energy, and a few emotional breakdowns. Whether it’s avoiding impulsive mistakes, finding your way around difficult conversations, or simply becoming a more productive version of yourself, Here are some “cheat codes” that you should know.

2/6

People treat you how you let them

Here’s something no one really tells you growing up, that people often treat you based on what you allow. It’s not always personal or cruel but sometimes, they just don’t know better. But if someone keeps crossing a line, and you stay silent, they’ll think that line doesn’t exist. Setting boundaries doesn't mean that it’s clear. The moment you start saying, “That doesn’t work for me,” you teach others how to respect you. It’s tough at first, but helps in the long run

3/6

Turn anxiety into a to-do list

Overthinking feels like being stuck in a mental fog, where every "what if" makes things blurrier. But every time your mind boggles into spirals, try asking “What can I do right now?” That one question grounds you. If you feel like you're falling behind then try to write down what you can control. If you feel stressed about a deadline then break it into tiny, manageable steps. It is not necessary that you instantly get the answer to all your questions but you can at least start this way. Because action creates motivation.

4/6

Wait 24 Hours before making an emotion based decision

When you're angry, hurt, or overly excited, take a pause. That emotion may pass, but the consequences of a rushed message or impulsive choice might not. Give yourself 24 hours. One might writing the angry text, but don’t send it, instead try sleeping on that risky purchase. Sit with the decision as it can offer you more time to think clearly.

5/6

If someone flexes too hard, cut the hype in half

Whether it’s money, success, or lifestyle, when someone brags excessively, one should take it with a grain of salt. In most cases, what people present, especially online or in social settings, it is an inflated version of reality. If they say they make seven figures, assume it’s half. Not to judge them, just to protect your peace. Comparing yourself to someone’s highlight reel will only mess with your self-esteem unnecessarily.

6/6

Put an alarm in the bathroom

Snoozing your alarm in bed is way too easy. Your half-asleep brain convinces you that five more minutes won’t hurt until it's 40 minutes later. But in the bathroom, one can do it differently, which is to productively place your alarm in the bathroom. An instant question would pop up in your mind, why would one do that? It is because you’ll have to get up, walk there, and once you’ve made it to the cold tiles, you’re awake. Additionally, brushing your teeth or splashing water, and your morning just started without a single snooze.
