Former CNN anchor Don Lemon was arrested by federal agents in Los Angeles on Thursday night while covering the Grammy Awards, according to a statement from his attorney Abbe Lowell. The development follows days of speculation about possible federal charges tied to Lemon’s presence at a church protest in Minnesota.Lemon told Scripps News last week that he believed the Department of Justice was preparing to charge him in connection with a protest at a Minnesota church. He has maintained that he was there as an independent journalist when demonstrators confronted a pastor they accused of being an immigration enforcement agent. “Instead of investigating federal agents who killed two peaceful Minnesota protesters, the Trump Justice Department is devoting its time, attention and resources to this arrest, and that is the real indictment of wrongdoing in this case,” Lowell said.The arrest comes after Lemon appeared at Cities Church in Minneapolis on January 18, when a protest disrupted the service.
