Follow these rules before wearing Ruby

Wearing a ruby gemstone can have significant astrological benefits, but it's important to follow certain rules and guidelines not just for their positive effects but also to avoid bad omen and negativity. Rubies are largely associated with the Sun, and they are believed to enhance vitality, passion, and confidence. Here are some rules to consider when wearing a ruby gemstone.

2/5

Consult an astrologer

Before wearing a ruby or any gemstone, it's crucial to consult an astrologer or gemologist. They can assess your birth chart, planetary positions, and individual circumstances to see if wearing a ruby is suitable for you.

2. Authenticity matters a lot

Make sure that the ruby you invest in is genuine and of high quality. Fake rubies will not be beneficial. If you buy a ruby, make sure you get a certification of authenticity.

3. The right finger

When you wear a ruby ring, wear it on the ring finger of your right hand and the stone must touch your skin directly.

3/5

4. Specific days and time

Ruby is associated with the Sun, so, wearing it on a Sunday during sunrise is considered auspicious. Clean the ruby gemstone with raw milk and Ganga Jal (holy water) before wearing it.

5. Metal and Finger Selection

Rubies are traditionally set in gold or copper for maximum astrological benefits. The ring should be worn on the ring finger of the right hand (for men) or the left hand (for women).

6. Energizing ruby

To enhance the power of the ruby, it's recommended to perform a prana pratishtha, a ritual to awaken the gemstone's energies. Mantras dedicated to the Sun, such as the Gayatri Mantra or Aditya Hridayam, can be chanted while holding the ruby.

4/5

Regular cleansing and charging

Many don’t realise that rubies can accumulate negative energies over time. To keep the gemstone's positive effects intact, cleanse it periodically by dipping it in Ganga Jal or saltwater for a few hours. Recharge the ruby by exposing it to sunlight for a few hours or by reciting Sun mantras. Many experts recommend that you fill a silver or copper dish with some raw cow milk, honey, tulsi leaves, Ganga jal, and your ruby. Soak it for 30 minutes and then wash the stone jewellery with clean water. This purifies the stone through and through.

5/5

Avoid sharing

It's advisable not to lend your ruby to others, as it may not align with their astrological energies and could potentially create conflicts or negative effects.
