Texts to send a family member with anxiety

Is anyone of your family members dealing with stress and anxiety? If yes, your crucial presence in making them feel better is much-needed. Feelings of anxiety arise when dealing with a difficult or grave situation that emotionally and mentally drains them out. Communicating to them in the best way possible is necessary but it’s also not uncommon to get freaked out about responding to them. But don’t worry, we have got you covered. Here are some texts you can send a family member who’s dealing with anxiety.

2/6

“I’m here with you”

Assurance is the number one thing every person dealing with anxiety wants to hear. Letting your family member know that you are there to help them get through the situation is a huge help. Don’t let them feel isolated.

3/6

“What exactly is making you feel so anxious?”

Asking them the reason for their anxiety isn’t insensitive at all, as you may commonly think. Sharing can be a huge stressbuster, especially when someone is struggling to let their feelings out. At such a point, asking your family member to share will help them get some of their stress off.

4/6

“Are you doing anything for yourself today?”

Time for self-healing is the best medicine for someone dealing with anxiety. Working on yourself will help you realize your worth and value, and will also motivate you to get past this difficult time. And explaining this to your family member to take out time for their hobbies or interests will surely cheer them up.

5/6

“Try penning down your thoughts on a notebook”

Journaling or writing is an effective form of therapy that one can try out for themselves. Your family member may struggle to talk about their anxiety out loud, but scribbling them onto a piece of paper will also get the stress off their head. This a good way of letting them know you’re there for them, without having to talk about anxiety.

6/6

“I’ll meet you as soon as possible. I’m thinking of you!”

This reminder will let your family member know their presence matters to you. If they haven’t been talking to anyone at the moment, meeting them would be a good option. Don’t let the blues get to them. You can even send a playful gif to go with it!
