Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal: From friends to partners for life

They both are Bollywood actors who made their acting debut in Salman Khan's movies and even met at his party. Soon they became friends, then lovers, and now life partners. We are talking about the newly-married B-town couple Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal! Let's have a look at the relationship lessons to learn from their beautiful love story.

2/6

Love is above any religion

Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal come from two different religious backgrounds. However, they did not let their religion or society come in between their love for each other. The couple married under the Special Marriage Act (SMA) on June 23, 2024, in the presence of their friends and family in Mumbai. As per SMA, neither Sonakshi nor Zaheer changed their religion and both of them have equal rights in this legal marriage.

"With the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. Here’s to love, hope and all things beautiful with each other, from now until forever," Sonakshi posted on social media along with her wedding pictures.

Love conquers all

Despite their differences, both Sonakshi and Zaheer hold on to each other and their love. They dated for seven years and over the years, the couple's bond grew stronger and closer. A few days before their wedding, there were many speculations of their respective families not agreeing to their marriage. However, Sonakshi and Zaheer's love is yet another example of the power of love to conquer all.

"On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other's eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment…," Sonakshi said in an Instagram post, as she shared her wedding pictures on social media.

Love takes time to grow

Sonakshi and Zaheer first met at a party hosted by Salman Khan, and soon their friendship blossomed into love. The couple started dating in 2017 and seven years down the line, they are now happily married. In their case, a strong friendship is the basis of their relationship and marriage. It also shows that love takes time to bloom, and true love stays no matter what. One needs to have faith in their relationship and not rush-- as what's meant to be, will be.

5/6

Keep your relationship private

While rumours were rife for a long time about Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal dating each other, the couple chose to keep it private for a long time. It was just a few months back when they started posting about each other on Instagram. However, the couple never openly spoke about their relationship until their wedding was finalised.

Keeping your relationship private helps you maintain your privacy. After all, a relationship is about two individuals deciding to be together through ups and downs, and nobody else's views, apart from the two individuals involved, matter.

6/6

Celebrate each other

While Sonakshi and Zaheer didn't speak much about their love for each other in public, they often posted pictures of each other, praising and appreciating having them in their life. And after being officially married, the couple's pictures and videos from their fun reception are all over the internet. One can notice how comfortable and happy Sonakshi and Zaheer are, after finally marrying each other. They not only love and respect but also truly appreciate, value, and celebrate each other!
