Pictures that prove King Charles and Princess Diana’s relationship was doomed

The infamous marriage between King Charles and Princess Diana has been narrated over and over again, through the years. Princess Diana had become people’s favourite royal, even after her divorce from then Prince Charles. The marriage had itself begun as a compromise as Charles’ heart was forever with Camilla, his previous partner, who is now the Queen consort. Charles and Diana’s marriage was strained from the beginning and the couple fought hard to never show their true emotions from the beginning of the marriage, but all eventually unfolded. Let’s take a look at some of the photos that suggest their marriage was doomed from the very beginning.

The day when Diana and Charles got married, Diana described that day as the worst day of her life. Before the wedding, Charles was seen wearing gold cufflinks with interwoven Cs to a formal dinner. Diana didn’t want to go through with the wedding and she told her sisters, to which they replied that she had no choice.

Reportedly, Charles had cried the night before he got married to Diana because he couldn’t get over Camilla. He always loved Camilla and was even vocal about the same during phone calls which Diana had once overhead.

In Diana’s biography, it was revealed that Charles hardly tried to hide his emotions. Slowly it became very evident that Charles only loved Camilla. Diana had also been heartbroken when she saw a photo of Camilla fall out of his diary.

The marriage began to fall apart slowly and it is widely believed that the failed marriage led to Diana’s deteriorating health. She also suffered from an eating disorder and these things were taking a huge toll on her.

Diana and Charles filed for divorce in 1996. This was after Diana had the famous interview with BBC where she mentioned ‘there were three people in the marriage, so it was a bit crowded.’

Princess Diana met with a tragic accident in Paris a year after she divorced Charles. Charles was devastated upon learning about his ex-wife’s death.
