Take a look at these reasons!

Moving on from a relationship is painful, gruelling and extremely remorseful. The memories of the relationship keep hitting you with nostalgia and the possibility of a future that could have been. But every relationship becomes a teaching experience with all the life lessons it has to offer. Even if moving on can be incredibly difficult, it can be a healing opportunity. And to shed light on this, here are 6 people who shared the reason why they moved on from their spouse.

Focusing on professional life

“The entire time I was in my previous relationship, I completely ignored my professional life. I was late to work, I missed my deadlines and I often felt unworthy. The worst part being, my partner never supported me with my professional life. And so, for my sanity, I decided to part ways with my ex, no matter how much it hurt. I moved on, and I am now truly happy.”

A cheating scandal

“Having a scandal in my society is a very embarrassing thing that can happen to anyone. And unfortunately, my life turned upside down when my husband was caught cheating. A neighbourhood aunty saw him and soon enough, gossip and rumours spread around like wildfire. All eyes were on me. The following months, I separated from him. I tried my best to move on because being on the radar of my judgemental society was far worse than feeling hurt from my separation from my husband.”

Ritika, 37 years old

For the children

“I moved on from an abusive marriage because of my kids. They were my sole inspiration and motivation to forget my painful past and move on. I joined work and began working just for the sake of my little munchkins. They make me happy in every way and are the reason why I am living life independently.”

A mutual breakup

“My wife and I mutually separated because we no longer had the time, energy and space to tend to each other’s needs. The both of us didn’t make a huge fuss out of it, except for the occasional crying and yelling. But the way how my wife handled this entire divorce and separation is what actually helped me to move on.”

Tushar, 35 years old

A young future

“I got married when I was young and dumb. We both were in our twenties and we were incredibly impulsive. But with time, we both matured and our perspectives changed. And when we realised that it just wasn’t working anymore, we both mutually parted off. And that made moving on a lot easier.”

Piyush, 38 years old
