Bachelorette parties are soaring quite high on the barometer with an itinerary of sizzling dances, drinks and sinful pampering.
Scintillating bachelor’s parties are no secret, but maybe quite passé if you have any idea of the itinerary of the hen parties making a splash this wedding season. Shamita Shetty’s Sharara sharara number definitely set the bachelor’s party temperatures soaring, but brides-to-be are also grooving on Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar numbers with their girl pals.

Though the wedding day is perhaps the most important for the families of those about to enter into a marital bliss, if you ask the bride and her pals, it’s the hens’ night that they want to make memorable as much. Yes, spinsters sure know how to enjoy before they pronounce their wedding vows and maybe a lot wilder!
The girl gang are pretty organised at it. While the bride is allowed to relax and enjoy herself, her best friends (or as they like to call themselves – the maid-of-honour or the bridesmaid’s) organise this eventful night. Says Esha Sharma, a jewellery designer, “For my best friend’s wedding that’s coming up mid-December, I am readying a list of sexy item numbers on which we’ll perform. Sure on the list is Shah Rukh Khan’s bare-chested Dard-e-disco.”
The itinerary of the sizzling all girls’ party, however, also serves as a good rejuvenation experience, apart from some wild dancing and drinks.
Says Eurica Kudwa, an event organiser, “Girls usually like to host spa sessions, and pamper themselves and bond over good jokes.” Thai massage and chocolate spas are pretty popular at such girl gatherings.
Bride-to-be Aabha Suchak, who is getting married later this month, shares, “My sisters and a few friends are planning a hen party for me. I can’t wait to see what’s in store. They are making special angel and devil look hair bands and are also designing special dresses for the night. They have asked me to be prepared for some crazy games apart from the dance.”

Plan a perfect hen party
- If fine dining is your idea of having fun, then book a restaurant offering theme nights, where there is a good quality meal followed by VIP entrance to a top nightclub. And as you dance away the night, you could also flirt with some interesting men around.
- Get on to the party bus and go pub hopping with the gang. First, plan a good meal post which your gang could jump onboard the ‘party bus’ that will drop you off at a selection of venues. Such organisers also provide onboard entertainment arrangements like a male dancer – so there’s never a dull moment.
- The ultimate option is just piling up at a friend’s place and having some fun in-house. Good music, some drinks and food could can give the bride-to-be the time of her life.
- If you have a chance to plan a hen party ahead, one of the best ways to celebrate could be going with your girlfriends to a weekend gateaway. Book a cottage or a bungalow with a nice swimming pool. Carry along some good music. Plan a theme for the party with some crazy games and some drinks.
