Ne-Yo just redefined relationship goals - or blew them up entirely! The "Closer" singer (real name Shaffer Chimere Smith) is openly dating three women at once: Arielle Hill, Cristina, and Moneii. After a messy 2023 divorce from ex-wife Crystal Renay, he's all-into polyamory - and brutally honest about it. No secrets, no side chicks, just one big happy throuple. In a recent interview with Sherri Shepherd, Ne-Yo spilled how he pitched the idea, why Valentine's looks wild at his house, and why "one relationship, three people" works for him. Here's what he said:
From ugly divorce to radical honestyFlashback: Ne-Yo's split from Crystal Renay, who is the mother of his 3 kids, was quite messy and public. She accused him of cheating and fathering a kid elsewhere, while she raised his family. In 2023, their divorce was finalized and it left scars - and a vow. "I'll keep this brief," Ne-Yo told Sherri Shepherd. "After my very public, very ugly divorce, I made the decision that I was never going to tell another lie to a woman ever again in life."
Why Traditional Marriages Are Being Replaced By New Love Models
No more lying. With 5 children in total, two from prior relationships, and three from his ex-wife), looks like Ne-Yo is done with deception.
So much so that he is now in polyamorous relationship with three women - at the same time.
How Ne-Yo pitched his idea of polyamorous relationship to his girlfriendsNe-Yo shared that he spoke to his girlfriend of longtime first. He sat her down and said, "Listen, you know I rock with you. You know I love you, but I have to be honest with you. It's not just you. I would love for you to meet these other women, and if we can figure out a way to do something together, cool. If not, that's cool, too."
But the turning point was when everyone chose to stay! No ultimatums, no tears. "Everybody chose to stick around," he said. His spin? "I'm not in three relationships. I'm in ONE relationship with three people," he replied. The throuple have group chats, shared calendars, and collective love that keeps their relationship going!
Apart from having shared time and schedules, Ne-Yo revealed that he also spends time individually with each of his girlfriends. Each woman gets solo date nights, keeps their spark unique.
Valentine's Day chaosTalking about how they celebrate Valentine's Day, Ne-Yo shared that on this day their love languages collide! "Everyone's love language is different," he shared, and so he gives tailored affection to his girlfriends.
