Married women confess how their lives changed after marriage

Marriage is no piece of cake even though it is wrongly presumed to be so as it looks all fun when women take those vows and wear beautiful fabrics and jewellery. Living with that person makes you realise what you are in for. Some women have a great time but many find their lives changing like night and day. Some married women anonymously confessed to us how their lives changed after marriage.

“I got married in my 30s and until then I was asked to settle down which made no sense to me because I had a great job, good friends, and a balanced life. But when I married a very well-balanced man, I got lucky and when I began living with him, I got a partner to share everything with. This is when I felt settled! I understand what people say but again this is my experience.”

“I used to live my life on my own terms, define what is good for me and what is not but after marriage, it all changed. I had a love marriage but we were living with the in-laws. My office timings, and evening walks, were all monitored. I could not take calls in the house because everyone would pay attention to whom I am chatting with and who are my friends etc. I felt caged and it was frustrating. I was a free bird after my husband and I moved out and started staying on our own.”

“I was expecting when we got married and it was one of the reasons why we had to take the step. I was excited and so were my in-laws but it was when I began living with him did I realise that I had married a man-child and now that I had 2 kids! It was a lot of work and mentally very taxing. When I spoke to my married friends, they said it is a given because men are immature especially when they live with mothers who pamper them so much. So at 27, I was a mom to a 1-month-old baby and a 30-year-old overgrown kid”

“Those girls are blessed who have good in-laws and loving husbands. Mine was sheer bad luck. There was a lot of taunting, negative comparisons, and small talk, making me a negative person while I lived in that house. I lost my friends, hated my job and my mother too stopped talking to me. It was after my divorce and moving into my own place, did I realise what I had become and so much work was needed!
