Do you relate too?

Getting married is a big step in life but there are several aspects almost all of us miss when we were single. Here are some married folks who shared anonymously with us what they miss and we cannot deny it. Can you relate to them too? If you have something to add, do share it with us in the comments section below.

The only person I had to clean up after was me

“Men are like overgrown babies in most houses and mine is no different. I hate being a mom to someone I had imagined being a partner with. Pick up your socks, close the lid of the food jars you open, why are your dirty clothes not in the washing machine, and pick up your plate after eating. I am a maid at home and an employee in the daytime. It gets too much for me even after constant discussions over this.”

3/5

Not being accountable

After marriage, you become accountable for every move and every decision and I hate that. Not ever being able to do random things around my own house is something I miss the most. My spouse does not say anything in a sense but I hate to explain why I was eating ice cream at 3 am, why am I sitting on the couch (my me-time), why am I wearing lipstick and walking around when I am at home… small things…”

4/5

Too much adjustment

“Earlier I was the only child in the house. Everything was just mine including my bed, my bathroom, the chocolates, fruits, and even the miscellaneous snacks that came in. After marriage, all was to be shared. It took me time to adjust to that but when you start living with a woman, the adjustment quotient goes up to a whole new level. I miss not adjusting at times. I want to leave the toilet seat as is. I want not to have to save a few pieces of my chocolate or fruits…”

Solo trips

“I belong to a very independent household but post-marriage, my life became very restricted. My in-laws and even my husband do not believe in solo trips, especially for the woman of the house. When I told them that I have been doing one solo trip every 2 years ever since I started earning, they thought I was lying. They just do not let me go out on my own without my husband. I said yes to an arranged marriage but only to cut off my own wings…”
