Take aways from Jalsa

Life is a rollercoaster of emotions and circumstances and that defines “Jalsa” in certain ways. It explored how a famous journalist gets involved in a hit-and-run case and later finds out that the girl she knocked off is her beloved maid’s daughter. The journalist (Vidya) has a son with special needs and it is her maid (Shefali) who takes care of him. Vidya essays a personality who has an image of an ethical person and has her confidence crumbling, while Shefali plays the role of a woman who is fighting for her dignity and pride with the circumstances she is put in.

There are many instances when life tests us and each human being has a different struggle which cannot and must not be compared. Here are a few life lessons that we can take from the Vidya Balan-Shefali Shah-starrer which explored different aspects of life.

2/5

Everyone has a vulnerable side

No matter how strong we are, what character we portray for the world to see, educated or not, all humans have a side which is vulnerable. To think that we can never be weak is a mistake because life tests us all. Acceptance is always the key. If you can accept the fact that you too have certain weaknesses and allow yourself to feel that way, it can help you maneuver life a bit more easily and you will indeed freak out a little less.

3/5

Self righteousness is great, but not always

Being honest and self righteous is great and very few people still work on those lines. But, circumstances can make you crumble and it is human nature! There are moments in all our lives when no matter how staunch we are about our beliefs, they are tested and we do have to give in as per the situation. Life is not black and white, there is a lot of grey area.

4/5

Social media is a part of life and not the truth of your life

Social media today has become a source of validation to our existence. It is a slow poison which we slowly give the power to for running our lives, influencing our personalities. We are from the truth even if we are just an audience on the medium. It has its pros but the cons can be rather dangerous. Likes, dislikes, random judgements have the power to push us into depression. So be wise when using the different social media platforms.

5/5

Life is unpredictable

Most of us try to pre-plan our lives and try our best to synchronize our emotions that way too. But what we know and cannot accept at times is that life is unpredictable. Irrespective of how we thought and decided our actions for the coming days, life does tend to throw nails on our road. Our position, bank balance, status, looks, all become useless or useful, irrespective of our occupation. Our pride, belief system, all can become null and void.
