How do people hide their money from their spouse

Here's what you can do

Financial infidelity is very common across the globe and it might be surprising but many couples hide their finances in different forms. They argue that it is about keeping a little bit of independence when the finances are merged in a marriage and it has nothing to do with trust or hurting the other. However, divorce experts say that it can be a huge trigger for separation and on the other hand, relationship experts say that married people should never combine their finances. It is a never ending debate and we feel both sides are correct in their own way and we are here to tell you what people do to hide their money from their spouse. Warning: We are in no way giving advice or backing the ideology of financial infidelity. Do it at your own risk!

2/6

Hide your new income

Whether it is a freelance project or someone gave you money or you have started a new project other than what you do in your job, hide that paycheck. Many people have a separate and undisclosed bank account where they get the money deposited. In many countries the HRs are very easily able to split your check into different accounts but in India, that may not be possible so see accordingly.

3/6

Cashback usage

There are many situations when you shop using a credit card or a debit card, depending on the scheme going on, you get a good amount of cashback. Now in an ideal world you would flaunt it to your partner that you got a cash back so that the particular amount can be used elsewhere but some people don't tell their partner about it and keep the cash back for their own purpose.

4/6

Buy gold

There are different ways of hiding that extra money you get by investing in gold jewellery or coins etc. Today, most of us have a bank locker or a safe where we keep our treasure even if it is a small chain. So to hide those extra bucks, simply buy some jewellery as per the amount.

5/6

Open another account

As mentioned in the first point, opening a separate bank account without telling your spouse is one way of hiding your money. You can easily open one next to your office or somewhere near a friend’s place that you visit often or even near your parents because your spouse will not suspect that different route you are taking otherwise.

6/6

The risk

Many people are of the opinion that everyone should have emergency funds because nowadays relationships are rarely lasting and well you never know what’s going to happen in the future. Even the most perfect partner turns into a crazy person. But the downside is that if you are caught and your partner gets the shock of his/her life, it could be a doomed relationship from there and then.
