All about Vidit Gujrathi and his wife Nidhi KatariaFor the unversed, Vidit Gujrathi got engaged to Nidhi Kataria in 2024. In fact, it was in November 2024 when he shared the big news on his social media account and introduced Nidhi Kataria, surprising everyone. "Not accepting rishtas anymore, It’s official now ! ♥️
Getting married soon!," he had written, along with pictures of himself and Nidhi.
Now, roughly five months later, Vidit and Nidhi tied the knot on April 2, 2025, at Oxford Golf Resort in Pune, India, as per reports.
While Vidit Gujrathi is a Chess Grandmaster, his wife Nidhi Kataria is a homeopathic doctor.
Sharing some beautiful pictures from their dreamy wedding, Nidhi Kataria wrote in a social media post, "We always dreamt of a moment like this — under soft skies, surrounded by the people we love, with petals falling like blessings from above. And in this very frame, we found it — the joy, the stillness, the everything we imagined love would feel like."
She added, "Getting married to the love of your life is special. But having your family and friends fly in from across continents to celebrate it with you? That’s magic. There’s no way to fully describe what we felt — only that time slowed down, and we’ll keep coming back to this moment, because nothing has ever felt more right."
Vidit will soon be seen in his next tournament in less than a week's time. After battling through a tough three-day qualifier last month, he secured a spot in the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Paris, starting on Monday, April 7. In an earlier interview, he mentioned that they might even celebrate their honeymoon in Paris!
Here's wishing the newly-wed couple, Vidit Gujrathi and Nidhi Kataria, many more years of happiness and togetherness!
