In the UK, a woman named Sarah Wilkinson decided to marry herself at the age of 42 and she even held a proper wedding ceremony for herself which was attended by her close friends and family! As per reports, Sarah Wilkinson was saving for her marriage for roughly 20 years, however, since she couldn't find a suitable partner, she decided to nonetheless go ahead with her wedding at Suffolk. "The ceremony wasn't an official wedding, but I had my wedding day. I think you get to the point where you think 'I might not have this with a partner by my side, but why should I miss out?' That money was reserved for my wedding- it was a case of it's there and why not use it for something I want to do," Sarah told the BBC. For her wedding, Sarah wrote 14 vows, with the first being a promise never to relinquish control of the TV remote, reported the BBC.

In a strange turn of events, a woman named Sofi Maure (25 years old back in 2023) announced that she married herself. "Today, in the most spurious moments of my life, I bought a wedding dress and cooked a wedding cake to marry myself," she tweeted in February 2023. However, her self-marriage didn't go as planned within 24 hours, Sofi shared on X that she was considering a divorce. However, on February 21, Ms Maure tweeted that she is considering getting a divorce. An expression of self-love

Self-marriage is an expression of self-love. It is a promise that one makes to oneself-- that no matter what happens, they would not abandon themselves and would always love, support, and take care of themselves. While marrying oneself might sound absurd, it is a beautiful promise of self-love and self-care especially for sensitive people.
