How many times have you avoided answering your best friend’s phone call just because you were pre-occupied with some other ‘important stuff’ at work? Or have cut a long conversation short as you were too tired after a long day at work? We tend to neglect our best buddies and slowly, the relationship fades away. Work takes over and work pressure engulfs you so bad that you do not realize when your best buddy’s name has stopped flashing on your phone.
And one day when you need your friend next to you, you find none. Here are a few things you could do so that you do not miss those calls.
Things to remember: We always have a ‘things to do’ or ‘things to remember’ list for official reasons. This list comes as a blessing for personal relations as well. ‘Call Aparna at 5 pm sharp,’ could be set as an alarm or included in your day’s activity list. This way you will not forget to call your friend.
Yellow’s for friendship: Yellow rose denotes friendship and yellow ‘post its’ could come to your rescue. Stick them up on your PC’s monitor or on the soft board of your desk to remind you of your ‘appointment’ with your buddy.
Got late at work, wow: When you get late at work, it’s a blessing in disguise. Call you friend and meet up for dinner and enjoy a hearty meal together. There’s nothing like an impromptu plan. And what’s more, you will not crib about your boss asking you to complete that late evening assignment.
Work hard, party harder: If your weekend has drained you out completely, there is nothing better than partying with a group of friends. Call you friends over for a pyjama party and have some ‘all girls’ fun. You are never too old for that.
An all-girls trip: Plan your holiday together. Apply for a leave well in advance and getaway with friends to an exotic destination. Beaches are not just relaxing and soothing, but fun as well.
Work is important as it earns you a living. But friends teach you how to live life to the fullest.
