Strengthen that bond with your mother-in-law

After marriage, a woman’s life changes completely. They are so used to their own mothers that bonding with another person’s mother is not so easy in many cases. If you are looking for ways to bond with them, then here are few ideas.

2/8

Cooking together

The kitchen has always been the heart of the home no matter where you are in the world. Cooking together will create warmth between you and your mother-in-law and you both will end up sharing some sweet memories related to cooking and food.

3/8

Childhood pictures

Checkout old childhood pictures of your partner and the in-laws. Ask your mother-in-law if she has time and watch her genuine smile. Ask her a few things here and there and she will share some beautiful memories and interesting facts about people in your family.

4/8

Go shopping together

Take your mother-in-law shopping. Pamper her, ask her opinions on what you want to buy for yourself. You will get to know her taste, her patience level as well and well, when was retail therapy not fun?

5/8

Movie watching

Go for a movie together or a play perhaps. It simply adds to the experiences you have together and it also does not force you to talk to each other. You can always discuss the show plot later.

6/8

Have a games night

After discussing with your partner, try to keep a board game night. Make it a group activity. Play monopoly or even pictionary! Some games reveal a lot about the other’s personality so go for it.

7/8

Spa day

Book an entire day of pampering at a spa or a salon. Call salon services at home if you want and ask the men to leave you two girls for some nice relaxing girl time.

8/8

Hobby participation

Every now and then join her in understanding her hobbies. If she loves gardening, join her sometimes. Ask her first and see if you can be of any use. You will be surprised how much knowledge she may have accumulated over the years in that arena.
