A long distance relationship can never be easy. Spending months and, at times, even years apart can take a toll on the best of couples. Technology, however, has made things much easier in the last couple of years. Here are things couples in long distance relationships should do to keep the flame alive...
- Make it a point to connect at least once a day. No matter how conflicting your schedules are, don’t allow different time zones to get the better of you two. Fix a time where you can talk and make sure you stick to it.
- Technology has made it easier to stay in touch, so make the most of it! You can be constantly connected to your better half via video calls, e-mails and instant messaging, etc.
- Trust is one of the biggest factors that determines the success of a long distance relationship. Don’t do anything that will wreak the bond you share. Avoid getting jealous if you see your partner having fun with their friends. You can’t expect them to sit at home and mope just because you’re so far away.
- Don’t hesitate to make plans for the future. In fact, discussing the future will make you both feel more secure. Try and make plans to meet as often as you can to keep the spark alive.
