How your partner holds your hand can reveal a lot about your relationship!

Why it's important to hold your partner's hands properly

Did you know how your partner holds your hands can say a lot about the relationship your share? In fact, a lot of studies have been carried on in this aspect. Holding the hands of someone we are close to comes naturally and, undeniably, a lot of us do that. Let’s read what hand-holding can reveal about your relationship.

2/7

Holding only one finger

People in the first stage of their relationship are often seen doing this—holding only one finger (especially the little finger). This romantic gesture of holding a finger signifies that the relationship is still in the initial phase and the couple is in a flirty mood!

3/7

Holding the hands loosely only when touched accidentally

Do you often find your partner holding your hands only when he or she touches it accidentally? This means that you have a very sympathetic partner and the relationship is more friendly than passionate.

4/7

Holding all the fingers (baring the thumb) is a close grasp

A lot of people like to tightly grasp the fingers of their partner when they hold hands. It is not the same as intertwined fingers (next point will explain that). When the couple is in a steady and healthy relationship, this is how they often hold hands. Such gestures denote trust is the pillar of their relationship.

5/7

Intertwined fingers

If your partner intertwines the fingers when he or she holds your hands, this signifies love runs deep through the veins of your relationship. It is also a sign the bond is based on more than just physical attraction. Love, trust, care and respect are the four pillars of the relationship.

6/7

When one partner places hands on the arms of the other

When one partner gently places his or her hands on the arms of the other, it is a gesture of support and reliability. It means the person relies on the other and needs support.

7/7

Placing the hand on the partner’s waist like a side hug

Here the partner does not exactly hold the hands but places his or her hand on the waist of the other person sideways, which almost looks like a half-hug. This means both people share a close bond. But if only one of the partners is seen doing this, it may be a subtle sign of possessiveness.
