After Sir David Beckham was crowned with knighthood in November 2025, all must have been going pretty well within the Beckham family. One of the most popular families in England, the couple must have been enjoying the luxury of their successful careers and the warmth of their close-knit family.
However, what has been boiling over for a while and finally burst over the pot, is a family feud. One that was rumoured to exist until yesterday, but is the highlight of news headlines today. On January 19, 2026, the couple's eldest son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham took to Instagram stories to address the ongoing situation with his parents in a long statement.
Brooklyn Beckham's bombshell stories
According to the 26-year-old model, Victoria and David tried to 'bribe' him into signing away his rights before his wedding to Nicola Peltz. "Weeks before our big day, my parents repeatedly pressured and attempted to bribe me into signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and our future children," he wrote. "They were adamant on me signing before my wedding date because then the terms of the deal would be initiated. My holdout affected the payday, and they have never treated me the same since." Daily Mail exclusive, Victoria owns the trademark to Brooklyn's name since 2016 and it is set to expire this year in December.
He added that his mom called him 'evil', danced 'inappropriately on him' on his wedding day, and cancelled making his wife's wedding dress 'in the eleventh hour'. Brooklyn shared that many of his family members told him that Nicola was 'not blood' and 'not family' before their wedding and that his mother repeatedly invited women from his 'past into our lives' to make the couple uncomfortable.

The wedding
Brooklyn Beckham tied the knot with actress Nicola Peltz in April 2022 in Palm Beach, Florida after the two met and began dating in 2019. Early signs of discord apparently emerged during the time of the wedding itself.
As per US Vogue, which covered the wedding, the newlyweds did perform their first dance to South African singer Lloyiso's rendition of Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling in Love. It was at 11 pm that Marc Anthony, a close friend of the Beckhams took the stage and later Brooklyn danced with his mother, father and sister, Harper.
However, as per what a source told
Daily Mail, "The only person who can lawfully release that footage is Brooklyn himself. And while he's clearly been pushed to breaking point, he may still feel it's not something he wants to relive, especially on such a hugely public scale." Stavros Agapiou, a guest at the now infamous wedding also spoke to the outlet, insisting they witnessed Victoria's inappropriate dancing.
As for the wedding dress, Nicola donned a couture Valentino bridal gown for her big day, which according to her stylist Leslie Fremar, was a year in the making. As per
The Sun, when asked at the time over her sudden change of plans, Nicola said Victoria's atelier wasn't going to be able to finish it in time.
Signs of distance
Over the next two years, 2023 and 2024, both Brooklyn and Nicola were seen slowly distancing themselves from the larger Beckham clan. The aspiring chef missed his father's 50th birthday celebrations and was also not present during his reception of knighthood by King Charles III in November 2025. He was missing out on family posts and festive celebrations like Christmas, which he enjoyed with his wife, as per their social media posts.
Social media fallout
Brooklyn and Nicola renewed their vows in August 2025 in a ceremony in New York's Westchester County, when none of the other Beckhams were in sight. It was now revealed that the reason for the second ceremony was to 'create new memories that bring us joy and happiness'.
In December 2025, rumours rolled out that David and
Victoria Beckham had unfollowed their eldest son on Instagram. However, the couple's younger son, Cruz Beckham took to his Instagram stories to clarify that Brooklyn was the one who had blocked the entire family from his social media account. "NOT TRUE,” Cruz wrote, clarifying, “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son … Let's get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I.”
Public fallout
Now in January 2026, Brooklyn aired his familial grievances publicly for the first time in a series of Instagram posts and statements. He shared that he does not want to reconcile with his family, that his parents have "controlled narratives in the press about our family" to maintain the "brand Beckham."
As for any reaction from the rest of Britain's most popular family, David Beckham appeared on CNBC's Squawk Box in an interview and said, "I have always spoken about social media and the power of social media... for the good and for the bad. What kids can access these days, it can be dangerous. They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well."
Brooklyn's younger brother Cruz Beckham, who is an aspiring musician also took to Instagram to share a story of himself standing in a music studio as he prepares for a series of intimate concerts, seemingly ignoring his brother's bombshell stories all together.
