At 42, Rishi Sunak became the youngest Prime Minister of Britain. He is also the first British PM to have roots in India.

Sunak was born in 1980 in Southampton. His grandparents originated from British India but their birthplace, Gujranwala, lies in modern-day Pakistan's Punjab province. They later moved to East Africa.

Rishi's father Yashvir was born and raised in Kenya and worked as a general practitioner in the NHS. His mum Usha was born in Tanzania and worked as a pharmacist, running a local pharmacy.
