The parents of Emma Raducanu are Ian Raducanu and Renee Zhai, who keep their personal life private but have been involved with Emma’s tennis career since she was very young.

Emma Raducanu was born on Nov. 13, 2002, in Toronto, Canada. Her father, Ian Raducanu, is of Romanian origin, while Emma's mom, Renee Zhai, is a native of Shenyang, China. The family moved to the United Kingdom when Emma turned two years old, where she would go on to grow up in Bromley, a suburb of London. Emma went on to represent Great Britain internationally while competing in tennis tournaments.

Early life

Both of her parents work in finance, and they have valued education as well as her sporting achievements. Throughout her junior tennis career, her parents made sure that she prioritized education and did not compete in too many tournaments in her childhood and adolescence. Raducanu has attended the Newstead Wood School, a state grammar school in London, where she has done her GCSEs as well as her A Levels, simultaneously pursuing tennis.
