Vaishali got the required 2,500 International Chess Federation (FIDE) ranking points on Friday at the IV El Llobregat Open in Spain. Vaishali is the elder sister of Praggnanandhaa and the only daughter of Rameshbabu and Nagalakshmi.

In 2018, Praggnanandhaa was the youngest to become the grandmaster at 12. His sister Vaishali became the third Indian woman to earn the title of Chess grandmaster at the age of 22.
