US President Joe Biden, grandfather to 7, becomes great-grandfather

US President Joe Biden became a great grandfather on January 8. His granddaughter Naomi Biden Neal has given birth to a baby boy.

The elated great granddad told reporters that his granddaughter had given birth to “a 10-pound baby girl” before quickly correcting himself to say “baby boy”, the NYTimes reported.


President Biden has seven grandchildren.

Meet William Brannon Neal IV

The great grandchild of the 46th U.S. President was introduced to social media by Jill Biden. "We are proud to introduce you to our great-grandson: William Brannon Neal, IV," she has captioned a picture of her and Biden holding their great grandchild. The photo was taken inside Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre in Los Angeles.

"Congratulations! He is blessed to have you two as his great grandparents!," one Instagram user has commented on Jill Biden's picture. "Big congratulations to all the family. A new baby in the family is such a joyful event," writes another.

The child's parents, Naomi Biden Neal and Peter Neal were married in November 2022. Naomi is named after the firstborn daughter of Biden, who died in a car crash along with his first wife, Neilia, in 1972. Naomi is the daughter of Hunter Biden, the second son of Joe Biden from Neilia who is an attorney and businessman.

"I'm about to be a great-grandfather, Jesus God. But Naomi, his oldest, about to, I'm going out to California. She's due to have a cesarean on the 8th of January," he had revealed in an interview with the USA Today earlier. "Yeah, and God willing, and I have... All his daughters. She works for one of the major law firms, mega firms, same one Dodd's with. She went to Penn, at Columbia Law School. My number two works in the environmental movement. She works for Bloomberg's Environmental Initiative, where she attends all the COP meetings. Finnegan Biden. She's smart as hell," he told about his granddaughters.


Joe Biden has four kids: Hunter Biden, Ashley Biden, Naomi Christina Biden, Beau Biden. His grandkids are Natalie Naomi Biden, Robert Hunter Biden II, Naomi King Biden, Finnegan Biden, Maisy Biden, Navy Joan Roberts and Beau Biden.
